Welcome to JANEEMO

JANEEMO is a novel agro-forestry enterprise initiative in southern Malawi, promoting the use of oil-based trees and their products. It was supported by the Scottish Government and partners from 2008 to 2011.

The three JANEEMO trees, planted in combination around households, provide a source of light, gas power, firewood, highly nutritious food and oil, soap, green fertiliser, organic pesticide, medicine and mosquito repellant. Communities in Lower Shire are using the trees  and selling their products.
