Everyone’s inner comic
Grass roots comics are made by the community. They can learn the methods in a few days as it’s the story, drama and message that are important, not the drawing skill. It is a form of visual story telling that is flexible, attention grabbing and inexpensive.
Comic aims
We are using grass-roots comics to:
- help young people express their views on Janeemo developments in relation to their own achievements or problems
- communicate Janeemo to a wide audience
- understand people’s attitudes towards Janeemo
How it works
Comic development workshops are being held with school children and youth groups. They learn how to tell their story using basic drawing skills.
Comics will be reproduced into posters for the village, a book for local schools and youth groups and an education pack for schools in Scotland.
