Blantyre Trade Fair 2009

19th - 29th June 2009

ENTECH and the Department of Forestry (EU/GOM IFMSLP) promoted and  sold JANEEMO products at the Blantyre International Trade Fair 19-29 June 2009. JANEEMO products were branded and marketed with information brochures and on special promotion days visitors to the stand got the chance to taste Moringa muffins and bread. Moringa leaf powder proved extremely popular with 400 50g packets sold to eager consumers. Neem powder was also a favourite.  The story of Neem firewood as a sustainably sourced wood product from our communities in lower shire was also used to build awareness about consumer choice and its relation to deforestation. Displays on the stand explained to the Blantyre public and several thousand school children the relationship between the JANEEMO project and actions towards mitigating and adapting to climate change.
