Get busy with the JANEEMOIDS
10th July 2009
The JANEEMOIDS are cartoon characters created by the janeemo partners to add some colour and fun to JANEEMO messages for school children in Chikwawa. The characters have been created to promote the use and benefits of Jatropha, Neem and Moringa. They are small people, invisible to humans who live in the trees observing farmers. Their adventures are designed to keep children in suspense to what they will get up to next and they spend their days trying to show farmers how Jatropha, Neem and Moringa trees can bring change in their lives.

Jere Jatropha is an open, multi-tasking guy who is characterised by his Jatropha skull cap, Noah Neem is a tough bloke who is always ready for a fight reflecting the anti-bacterial/viral nature of the Neem tree and Mary Moringa is a caring, informed character reflecting the nurturing nutritious and medicinal nature of Moringa. The adventures of The JANEEMOIDS will be integrated into a comic book for school children along with other comic stories produced by the school children themselves and interactive games and learning materials about JANEEMO. The JANEEMOIDS will be introduced in full colour at the JANEEMO Festival on July 23rd when their first adventure will be distributed to local school children.
